WTK EcomaS 100 medical waste treatment system
Infectious risk hospital waste steriliser and shredder systrem
SCROLL
WTK EcomaS 100 enables hospitals to treat their solid infectious waste in a sustainable and cost- effective way: a revolutionary solution that shreds, sterilises and compacts infectious hospital waste, eliminating the need for storage, transport and incineration.
WTK EcomaS 100 allows the treatment of the following waste categories:
- CER 18.01.01 / CER 18.02.01: sharps (unused sharps)
- CER 18.01.03: waste that must be collected and disposed of using special precautions to prevent infection
- CER 18.02.02: wastes whose collection and disposal is subject to special requirements in order to prevent infection
The PLUSes that make WTK EcomaS 100 unique
Reduction of the initial volume and weight of infectious waste through compaction
Sterilization of infectious waste with dry heat and pressure, without chemicals
The sterilised residue can be delivered to the undifferentiated fraction of municipal solid waste
The machines can be controlled remotely using Microdefender software
Design and production 100% Made in Italy
Customised solutions and accessories
Complete traceability and certification of the entire disposal process
Shredding with double shredder
No need for liquid discharge

Technical specifications
The sterilisation treatment takes place inside the TRAMOGGY during the grinding phase.
No chemicals are used. WTK EcomaS 100 is equipped with an air heater that allows hot air into the TRAMOGGY. The temperature of the TRAMOGGY reaches 150 o . Once this temperature is reached, the TRAMOGGY is pressurised to 3 bar. This dual activity enables the sterilisation action of the waste, which is simultaneously shredded. Heat transfer occurs by convection.
The shredding of waste takes place by means of a dual process, within the same TRAMOGGY and sterilisation. An initial ‘coarse’ shredding takes place by means of a shredder with 2-axis cutting blades that is placed near the loading compartment. The shredded waste, by dropping down, passes into the lower compartment of the TRAMOGGY and arrives at the second ‘finer’ shredding stage, by means of a second hammershredder.
Before the shredded and sterilised waste is ejected from WTK EcomaS 100, it must necessarily be cooled. This is done by suctioning the processed waste from the TRAMOGGY to another STORAGE container. Suction is achieved by means of an air vacuum. Once the waste has reached the STORAGE container, it is continuously stirred by the movement of air in the form of a vortex. In this way, the temperature is reduced and hot, potentially unhealthy air is expelled by means of filtering treatment (activated carbon and Hepa).
Once the waste residue has cooled, it is ready to be ejected from WTK EcomaS 100 in the form of a small cylindrical solid. From the cooling container, the residue passes through an automatic press that creates a cylindrical solid with a diameter of approximately 8 cm.
The solid is then ejected from WTK EcomaS 100 and placed inside a special bag for disposal.
Traceability of the entire process
One of the pluses of the WTK EcomaS 100 system is the complete traceability of the entire disposal cycle of Infectious Medical Waste: WTK EcomaS 100 enables the processing of a certificate of successful sterilisation and shredding of waste, which will contain all the necessary information.
